The adorable little boy in the photo is JJ. He was born with multiple birth defects including Werner Mesomelic Dysplasia with Hirschsprungs and a heart disease called Double Outlet Right Ventricle. Following multiple surgeries and almost dying after his first heart surgery, JJ is ready to live life to the fullest. This 4 year old boy brings smiles to people’s faces as he overcomes the difficulties associated with having both of his legs amputated above the knees.
Seven TEAM Physical Therapy employees will be competing in Challenged Athletes Foundation’s (CAF) triathlon on October 21st in honor of him as TEAM JJ. The triathlon includes able bodied people and people with amputations competing together. CAF raises money to help people with physical challenges pursue an active lifestyle through physical fitness and athletics. CAF’s mission is clearly written: “Give those with the desire to live active, competitive lifestyles every opportunity to compete in the sports they love”. By making a donation towards my fundraising goal you will directly help a challenged athlete in need.
TEAM PT’s goal is to raise $5,000 dollars. Any donation would be appreciated, or even your attendance the day of the event would be amazing. This event is something you do not want to miss; it will be a life changing experience to witness. Donating is very easy, just go to my personal TEAM JJ webpage link to donate online at http://sdtc12.kintera.org/nforsberg
